الٓر Alif Laam Ra.

تِلْكَ These

ءَايَٰتُ (are) the Verses

ٱلْكِتَٰبِ (of) the Book

وَقُرْءَانٍ and Quran

مُّبِينٍ clear.

رُّبَمَا Perhaps

يَوَدُّ will wish

ٱلَّذِينَ those who

كَفَرُوا۟ disbelieved,

لَوْ if

كَانُوا۟ they had been

مُسْلِمِينَ Muslims.

ذَرْهُمْ Leave them

يَأْكُلُوا۟ (to) eat

وَيَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ and enjoy

وَيُلْهِهِمُ and diverted them

ٱلْأَمَلُ the hope,

فَسَوْفَ then soon

يَعْلَمُونَ they will come to know.

وَمَآ And not

أَهْلَكْنَا We destroyed

مِن any

قَرْيَةٍ town

إِلَّا but

وَلَهَا (there was) for it

كِتَابٌ a decree

مَّعْلُومٌ known.

تَسْبِقُ (can) advance

مِنْ any

أُمَّةٍ nation

أَجَلَهَا its term

وَمَا and not

يَسْتَـْٔخِرُونَ (can) delay it.
