Fussilat (Explained in detail)
The name of this Surah is composed of two words, Ha-Mim and As-Sajdah, which implies that it is a Surah which begins with Ha-Mim and in which a verse requiring the performance of sajdah (prostration) has occurred.

حمٓ Ha Meem.

Fussilat
تَنزِيلٌ A revelation
مِّنَ from
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ the Most Gracious,
ٱلرَّحِيمِ the Most Merciful,

Fussilat
كِتَٰبٌ A Book,
فُصِّلَتْ are detailed
ءَايَٰتُهُۥ its Verses,
قُرْءَانًا a Quran
عَرَبِيًّا (in) Arabic
لِّقَوْمٍ for a people
يَعْلَمُونَ (who) know,

Fussilat
بَشِيرًا A giver of glad tidings
وَنَذِيرًا and a warner;
فَأَعْرَضَ but turn away
أَكْثَرُهُمْ most of them,
فَهُمْ so they
لَا (do) not
يَسْمَعُونَ hear.

Fussilat
وَقَالُوا۟ And they say,
قُلُوبُنَا "Our hearts
فِىٓ (are) in
أَكِنَّةٍ coverings
مِّمَّا from what
تَدْعُونَآ you call us
إِلَيْهِ to it,
وَفِىٓ and in
ءَاذَانِنَا our ears
وَقْرٌ (is) deafness,
وَمِنۢ and between us
بَيْنِنَا and between us
وَبَيْنِكَ and between you
حِجَابٌ (is) a screen.
فَٱعْمَلْ So work,
إِنَّنَا indeed, we
عَٰمِلُونَ (are) working."
