كِتَٰبٌ (This is) a Book

أُنزِلَ revealed

إِلَيْكَ to you

فَلَا so (let) not

يَكُن be

فِى in

صَدْرِكَ your breast

حَرَجٌ any uneasiness

مِّنْهُ from it

لِتُنذِرَ that you warn

بِهِۦ with it,

وَذِكْرَىٰ and a reminder

لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ for the believers.

ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ Follow

مَآ what

أُنزِلَ has been revealed

إِلَيْكُم to you

مِّن from

رَّبِّكُمْ your Lord,

وَلَا and (do) not

تَتَّبِعُوا۟ follow

مِن from

دُونِهِۦٓ beside Him

أَوْلِيَآءَ any allies.

قَلِيلًا Little

مَّا (is) what

تَذَكَّرُونَ you remember.

وَكَم And how many

مِّن of

قَرْيَةٍ a city

أَهْلَكْنَٰهَا We destroyed it,

فَجَآءَهَا and came to it

بَأْسُنَا Our punishment

بَيَٰتًا (at) night

أَوْ or

هُمْ (while) they

قَآئِلُونَ were sleeping at noon.

فَمَا Then not

كَانَ was

دَعْوَىٰهُمْ their plea

إِذْ when

جَآءَهُم came to them

بَأْسُنَآ Our punishment

إِلَّآ except

أَن that

قَالُوٓا۟ they said,

إِنَّا "Indeed, we

كُنَّا were

ظَٰلِمِينَ wrongdoers."
